This weekend marks the opening of Kirrenderri: Heart of the Channel Country an exhibition at the Redcliffe Museum. This exhibition is truly remarkable, a very special invitation to intimately view incredibly rich Mithaka history, continuing culture, and the incredible journey of rediscovery and strength.
Join us for the Ngali wanthi “we search together…” Research Symposium – a day of exploration showing how a complex society thrived in the Channel Country, following songlines etched by great desert rivers, and the modern-day fight to protect them. Hear from Mithaka Elders, researchers, scientists and Channel Country locals about the rich history and continuing legacy of care and culture entwined with this great desert river system.
